National Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees with Disabilities (NCFAED)
Our Mission Statement
The mission of NCFAED is to ensure that qualified individuals with disabilities are afforded an equal
opportunity to participate in the hiring processes within the Agency. Then, once aboard, those employees
who are considered disABLED shall be recognized for their abilities, rather than their disabilities when
competing for advancement.
NCFAED is also dedicated to the goals of collaboratively providing employees with the prospects to
make choices which will allow them to maximize their development, independence, and enABLE them to
integrate their talents within the Agency.
The National Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees with Disabilities (NCFAED) believes that employees or organizations that strengthen FAA’s reputation for Diversity and Inclusiveness, (D & I) deserve recognition. This exciting awards program, utilizing a platform of transparency invites or encourages every FAA or contractor an opportunity to honor a fellow employees or supporter who goes above and beyond their expected responsibilities to achieve unique hiring, promotion or advancement results for those who struggle daily with a physical or mental disability.
Nominations can come from FAA employees or contractors at any level and NCFAED will recognize and evaluate an individual or a team for their extraordinary efforts to become a difference maker for the Agency.
Helen Keller’s mentor Anne Sullivan successfully broke all physical barriers that permitted her to overcome the seclusion imposed by a childhood illness. So, it is with great honor and pride that NCFAED recognizes these great women for their unimaginable lifetime achievements. NCFAED intends that their legacy continues with an annual award or awards that recognize those who share the same vitality and drive to overcome the unstoppable when faced with insurmountable odds.
You do not have to be a full time employee of FAA to be recognized for your accomplishments but, you do have to share the vision of NCFAED and the decision made by the NCFAED Executive Board will be final and binding.
The evidence presented will be evaluated concerning how it relates to the current NCFAED goals and objectives promoting and supporting those with disabilities. Nominations will be accepted until the 21st of September.

The award(s) will be presented on October 11, 2017 at the National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) kickoff celebration held at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
